our vision

As four-decade local residents and twenty-year residents of Ridgefield, save for a multi-year sabbatical on Nantucket, we’ve watched the community evolve. A once fairly sleepy “just south of the very heel of the Berkshire Foothills” community has unquestionably turned somewhat more “cosmopolitan.”

The rich history, scenic surroundings, interesting architecture, and vibrant restaurant scene remain; yet, we felt the niche of a European-flair café meets modern-day general store continues to be underserved.

Enter Corner Café of Ridgefield: eclectic food offerings with a keen eye towards healthy ingredients, created both in house as well as by local craft food purveyors, small roastery local coffee & tea, gluten free as well as “regular” artisanal baked goods and delicious snacks are joined by carefully curated items for the home, all in an of-the-moment café setting that nonetheless pays homage to the predecessors for the past hundred plus years in the building it is situated in.
